What bad blood? Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift bury that feud in badass MTV VMAs duet

What bad blood? Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift bury that feud in badass MTV VMAs duet

Band-aids don't fix bullet holes, but a joint performance can go a long way towards moving on from any previous bad blood.

Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift teamed up to open the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (August 30) and the two divas got the MTV gala off to a truly shocking start by joining hands for a mash-up of 'The Night Is Still Young' and 'Bad Blood'.

A star-packed Los Angeles crowd were on their feet as Minaj and Swift buried those rumours of a feud once and for all by sharing a friendly hug to close their collaboration.

The duet was the culmination of Minaj's show opening performance, which included a twerking dance line for 'Trini Dem Girls'.

The performance equivalent of a pop music summit comes in the wake of the rapper calling out MTV for ignoring her track 'Anaconda' in the Video of the Year category.

Nicki's critique of the MTV snub led to a highly-publicised squabble with Video of the Year nominee Taylor Swift on Twitter, which was only resolved after Ed Sheeran andTaylor's alleged rival Katy Perry got involved.

In spite of the Video of the Year snub, 'Anaconda' has been nominated for Best Female Video and Best Hip-Hop Video.

Miley Cyrus is hosting the The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards tonight (August 30) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
