Where are the cast of Six Feet Under now? Catch up with Michael C Hall, Frances Conroy and more
Six Feet Under left our screens 10 years ago this week, and if you're anything like us,you probably still haven't quite recovered from that final episode.
But what happened to the actors who played the Fishers and their friends from 2001 until 2005?
Michael C Hall
Spending five years playing the uptight but loveable undertaker David Fisher on Six Feet Under, Hall went on to star as a serial killer for eight seasons on Dexter - a show that he's perhaps more famous for now.
After an almost unbroken 12-year-run on cable television, Hall crossed over to the silver screen with roles in Kill Your Darlings and Cold in July, before making his Broadway comeback in Hedwig and the Angry Inch in 2014.
And it looks like Hall has plans to stick with theatre for the time being at least, as he was recently cast as an alcoholic alien in David Bowie's off-Broadway musicalLazarus.
Frances Conroy
Conroy's performance as family matriarch Rush Fisher earned her both Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards, plus four Emmy nominations.
Following the end of the show, she made a return to the stage following a six-year break in a production of Pyrenees in Los Angeles. She has also had guest roles in TV shows like Happy Town, Desperate Housewives and How I Met Your Mother.
Conroy joined the cast of American Horror Story in 2011, and went on to star as different characters in each of the show's four seasons to date. The show bagged the actress the fifth Emmy nomination of her career. However, it looks like she won't be appearing in fifth season AHS: Hotel when it debuts later this year.
Peter Krause
Six Feet Under wasn't Krause's first leading role, coming shortly after his two-year turn as Casey McCall on Sports Night, but playing Nate Fisher did win him two Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2003 and 2004.
Major roles in TV series like The Lost Room, Dirty Sexy Money and Parenthoodfollowed, and he also played Rob Kingsbury in 2011 fantasy film Beastly.
He will return to network television this season in ABC's new crime drama The Catchfrom Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder's Shonda Rhimes.
Lauren Ambrose
The then-23-year-old Ambrose already had a handful of acting roles to her name when she made her debut as Claire back in 2001, but nothing quite on the level ofAlan Ball's drama.
Over the course of five seasons, viewers witnessed Claire transform from an angst-ridden teenager to a young woman on the cusp of adulthood. And in the years sinceSix Feet Under left us, many have asked whether the show was really Claire's story all along.
After the series ended, Ambrose went on to star as Jilly Kitzinger in Torchwood: Miracle Day, while also appearing in Where the Wild Things Are, Wanderlust and USA's new action-thriller Dig. Fans can also look forward to seeing her in the revival of The X-Files in January.
Rachel Griffiths
Griffiths's award-winning performance in Six Feet Under was quickly followed by another dysfunctional family drama in Brothers and Sisters, which she starred in alongside Sally Field, Calista Flockhart and Matthew Rhys.
Since the ABC drama came to an end in 2011, she has taken parts in Underground: The Julian Assange Story and Saving Mr Banks. Back in her native Australia, Griffiths made her debut as a TV director on the teen drama series Nowhere Boys earlier this year.
Mathew St Patrick
After playing David's other half Keith in all five seasons of Six Feet Under, St Patrick went on to play another cop in Fox's short-lived crime drama Reunion. Low ratings led to the show's cancellation, and it was pulled from the schedules after just nine of its 13 filmed episodes had aired.
He's also appeared in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Private Practice, NCIS: Los Angeles and Sons of Anarchy.
Freddy Rodriguez
After playing the Fishers' employee, and later business partner, Rodriguez has had a varied career in both television and film.
He starred in Ugly Betty between 2007 and 2010, making 12 appearances as Betty's love interest Gio Rossi. On the silver screen, his most notable role has probably been in Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror.
Rodriguez is currently a series regular on NBC medical drama The Night Shift.
Richard Jenkins
While Jenkins only made 21 appearances in Six Feet Under's 63 episodes, Nathaniel Fisher Sr still felt like one of the show's main characters - even from beyond the grave.
In 2008, Jenkins was nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Awards for The Visitor, but lost out to Sean Penn, who won for Milk. You may also recognise the 68-year-old from Eat Pray Love, Friends with Benefits, The Cabin in the Woods and Jack Reacher.
Jeremy Sisto
Since playing Brenda's unpredictable brother Billy, Sisto has continued to find success on the small screen.
He played NYPD Detective Cyrus Lupo on Law & Order between 2008 and 2010, and also starred in Suburgatory from 2011 until 2014, when it was cancelled after three seasons. Earlier this year, he starred in the US adaptation of French drama The Returned.
