Elaine Constantine returns to the fashion fold with Hunter campaign

Elaine Constantine returns to the fashion fold with Hunter campaign

She was one of the most iconic fashion photographers of the late Nineties and early Noughties, described by Anna Wintour as one of the most talented of her generation and renowned for joyous, action-packed shoots for The Face, i-D andVogue. But at the height of her success, Elaine Constantine quietly bowed out of the fashion scene to begin work on her award nominated directorial debut, feature film Northern Soul.
Well, for anyone like us, who has missed her honest, yet colourful vision of British youth culture brightening up the fashion world, the good news is that she’s back.

And we have Hunter Original creative director Alasdhair Willis to thank for her first commission, as the lens-mistress of Hunter’s AW15 campaign. The shoot – and accompanying video – follows a group of six intrepid models on a hyper-real outdoor adventure which takes in a picnic and culminates in them summiting a Highland peak (in high-heeled wellies, naturally).

“We wanted our campaign film to equally ignite the senses and really bring both the collection and the spirit of the Scottish Highlands alive, so we worked closely with Thomas Traum to use the latest 3D technology in an arresting yet unconventional way” explains Willis.

And if this has whet your appetite, expect to see more from Constantine in the coming months, as her first forays back into fashion magazine work hit the newsstands.
